Heavy rains to continue until Wednesday night - PAGASA

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Heavy rains will continue until Wednesday evening in Metro Manila and nearby provinces Southern and Central Luzon.

In its Yellow Rainfall Warning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said moderate to heavy rains will most likely continue to hit areas in Luzon.

These areas include Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Rizal, Cavite, Bataan, portions of Laguna, Tarlac, Quezon province, Occidental Mindoro and Zambales.

PAGASA said flooding in low-lying areas may continue to prevail.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that a total of 513 areas in 78 cities and municipalities in Luzon have been flooded due to the continuous heavy rains since Sunday.

The weather bureau is expecting the weather to gradually improve by Thursday as Tropical Storm Maring, which enhanced the southwest monsoon, has already moved out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
