MANILA, Philippines - Riyadh labor attaché Adam Musa flew in from Saudi Arabia last night to attend the Senate investigation on the alleged sex-for-flight scheme involving embassy officials in Middle East countries.
Sources from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said Musa returned home yesterday to face the investigation set by the Senate Blue Ribbon committee on Thursday. Aside from Musa, five other labor officials will also appear at the Senate to explain the DOLE’s side and report on the progress of their own probe on the alleged sex-for-flight scheme victimizing distressed workers.
DOLE spokesman Nicon Fameronag said National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NCRO) director Rustico dela Fuente, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) financial service director Albert Valenciano and International Labor Affairs (ILA) bureau director Rodolfo Sabulao were also invited to attend the Senate probe.
Dela Fuente, Valenciano and Sabulao all previously served as labor attachés to Riyadh.
Riyadh assistant labor attaché Antonio Villafuerte and former Jordan acting labor attaché Mario Antonio, who were both accused of involvement in the sex-for-flight scheme, are also set to testify on Thursday.
