Erap to Jinggoy, JV: Reconcile for the poor
MANILA, Philippines - Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada tried again to reconcile his two sons, Jinggoy and JV, who started to work as part of the minority bloc at the Senate yesterday.
The former President advised them to “think of the greater good for the greatest number†who are the less fortunate.
“You see, they are trying to break the relationship between the two brothers,†he said, without saying who was trying to break them up.
“Blood is thicker than water. They’ll always be together. They have only one purpose and one goal in life – to uplift the life of the less fortunate people of our country.â€
Estrada told his two sons that they should rise above their personal differences.
“We need to take care of the poor because if not for them, I would have not been Joseph Estrada,†he said.
“As a movie actor, they were the ones who patronized my movies, and when I ran for office they voted for me all the way to the presidency, and now as mayor of the city of Manila.â€
Estrada met with his two sons at Jinggoy’s office, where they talked for about 30 minutes before the session started at 10 a.m.
“(This is) just to show the people that the three of us are one, we have one goal in mind – to help our less fortunate people,†he said. “That’s what I am always telling them.â€
