MANILA, Philippines - Groups set to stage protest rallies as President Aquino delivers his fourth State of the Nation Address today should bring umbrellas because rains are expected in various parts of the metropolis.
Robert Sawi, chief of weather division of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), said a shallow low-pressure area (SLPA) is expected to bring cloudy skies with light rains over Metro Manila today.
But PAGASA said the SLPA has a slim chance of intensifying into a tropical cyclone based on latest forecasts.
The SLPA is embedded along the intertropical convergence zone and the ITCZ will also bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao and the regions of Ilocos and Mimaropa.
