Rainier Allan Ronda - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Three fishermen reported missing during Typhoon Isang last July 15 have been rescued off Taiwan.

A report to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) by the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office over the weekend said the fishermen were spotted about 80 nautical miles from Kaoshung Harbor, Southern Taiwan.

The fishermen were identified as Ronald Dumaran, Edwin Zoilo and Hener Mendoza, all from Sta. Ana, Cagayan.

The fishermen said their boat drifted for five days until they were seen by the Taiwanese Coast Guard.

They said another fishing boat was also lost at sea at the height of typhoon.

All the fishermen are in good condition and under the custody of Taiwan Coast Guard 102.
