Noy satisfied with Serendra blast probe results

MANILA, Philippines - Malacañang is satisfied with the results of the probe on the Serendra explosion and lauded the investigators for coming up what it described as an “exhaustive” report.

“We would like to commend the members of the team for their very thorough work.  Saw their presentation and it was very thorough, it was very precise,” Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said in a press briefing after the results of the probe were released by Interior Secretary Mar Roxas.

“We really saw the effort that was poured in and the cooperation borne among members of the interagency investigative team,” she added.

Valte said President Aquino was briefed about the findings Thursday night.

“The President was satisfied with the results,” the Palace official said.

“If you will recall, the instruction of the President to the interagency task force is to ensure that the findings will stand the scrutiny of anyone and that your findings will be based on the evidence that was gathered on the site,” she added.

No impropriety?

Meanwhile, Malacañang finds nothing wrong with the Ayalas – the family that owns Two Serendra developer Ayala Land Inc. – hosting lunch for the president in Myanmar.

One of the items in Aquino’s itinerary for his Myanmar trip is a luncheon hosted by Ayala Corp. The luncheon was held yesterday, the same day the findings of the Serendra blast probe was made public

Valte said the Ayalas also hosted a similar luncheon during the WEF in Davos, Switzerland last January.

She also clarified that the Ayalas were not part of the official delegation that accompanied the President

“They go on their own. The business leaders go on their own,” Valte said.
