MANILA, Philippines - The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday reset to July 9 the date for oral arguments on the Reproductive Health Law after granting several motions for intervention, the high court's Public Information Office said on its official Twitter account.
"The SC granted the interventions of: (a) Rep. Edcel Lagman, (b) former (Department of Health) Secretaries Drs. Esperanza Cabral, Jaime Galvez-Tan and Alberto Romualdez, Jr., (c) Joan De Venecia, Korina Ana Manibog and Jan Robert Beltejar, (d) Sen. Pia Cayetano, (e) Filpino Catholic Voices for Reproductive Health and (f) Interfaith Partnership for Responsible Parenthood, Inc.," the SC said.
The court originally set oral arguments on June 18.
It added that the previously set preliminary conference on June 6 will proceed.
The SC justices earlier voted 10-5 last March 19 to issue a status quo ante order on the RH Law or Republic Act 10354. At least eight petitions were filed by several groups against its implementation.
