Female general, 21 other AFP ranking officials promoted
MANILA, Philippines - The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) announced on Monday that President Benigno Aquino III, as commander-in-chief, approved the promotion of 22 generals and ranking officers.
Three major generals namely Caesar Ronnie Ordoyo (South Luzon Command head), Roy Deveraturda (Central Command head) and Rustico Guerrero (Western Command head) became lieutenant generals.
Brigadier generals Crisologo Nayve, Romeo Gapuz, Richard Siga-an and John Bonafos, meanwhile, were promoted to the rank of major general.
The first female Judge Advocate General, Colonel Marian Aleido, was among those who were hailed with new titles and responsibilities. Aleido was lifted to a brigadier general position.
Joining her in the brigadier general rank are Colonels Wilfredo Bonilla, Francisco Patrimonio, Romeo Gan, Mayoralgo dela Cruz, John Estoesta, Reynaldo Castillo and Oscar Lactao.
New rear admirals are commodores Leopoldo Alano and Jesus Millan, while replacing them as commodores are captains Joel dela Cruz, Roland Joseph Mercado, Franco Sebastian Pan and Antonio Habulan.
The ranks were conferred by AFP chief-of-staff General Emmanuel Bautista at a ceremony at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City, where AFP has its headquarters.
