MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr. slammed yesterday Interior Secretary Mar Roxas for blaming the judge for the alleged failure of the police to go after the armed men in the house of the Revilla clan in Imus, Cavite at the height of the May 13 midterm polls.
Revilla questioned Roxas for saying that the police failed to arrest the armed men due to the inaction of a local judge.
“Is this MARtial law? Is this the time for Mar Roxas law?†the senator asked.
“Does the good secretary mean to say that all judges were wrong and that only he and the police are right? All are wrong, and he is the only one who is right? I don’t think so,†he added.
Revilla said he could not understand why Roxas seemed obsessed with attacking him and his family.
Revilla’s son Jolo won as vice governor of Cavite over his rival Liberal Party coalition bet Jay Lacson, son of Sen. Panfilo Lacson.
On the other hand, Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla, who is allied with the Revillas, was re-elected, defeating administration candidate Ayong Maliksi.
According to Revilla, Roxas should be held accountable for the abuses of the local police after the latter reportedly admitted that he was “on top of the situation†during the police operations near their residence during the elections.
“That is good because we can now establish who should be accountable for the abuses of the police in Cavite,†he said.
