CSC, PRC ink deal vs pseudo-professionals
MANILA, Philippines - Pseudo-professionals and public officials and employees with fake credentials will be weeded out of government.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will be allowed access to the professional database of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) to achieve this objective.
Chairpersons Francisco Duque III of CSC and Teresita Manzala of PRC signed an agreement to speed up the efficient and accurate verification of data of licensed professionals and the processing of related appointments.
Manzala said from January to April this year, requests for eligibility of applicant-professionals have reached 869.
Persons assigned to do verification will become more productive in other equally important work areas, he added.
Duque said the old system in which the CSC sends written requests to the PRC for verification usually takes one or two weeks.
“This major breakthrough will countercheck fraudulent claims of those who wish to apply for a position in the government,†he said.
The CSC and PRC will deviate from the manual verification of eligibility of the information of applicant-professionals.
In turn, the CSC shall guarantee the protection of the PRC’s web-based verification system from unauthorized use and access.
Last year, the PRC received 2,689 requests for verification from the CSC, a process which used to take two weeks to complete.
