DLSU grad tops exam for civil engineers

MANILA, Philippines - A graduate of De La Salle University-Manila topped the licensure examination for civil engineers, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday.

With a score of 93.80 percent, Rigel Dante Napa led the nearly 4,000 examinees, followed by Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT-Manila) graduate Alvin Purugganan, who obtained a grade of 93.75 percent.

PRC said only 1,542 out of the 3,601 examinees passed the licensure examination held in Manila, and the cities of Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi and Lucena.

Another De La Salle graduate, Justine Belandres, placed third with a grade of 93.45 percent, while another Mapua graduate, Lamberto Marcial Jr. ranked fourth with a score of 93.40 percent.

University of the Philippines’ Alem Jay Pablo, along with two Mapua graduates, Neil Daniel Mallari and Efraim Manalo, scored 93.15 percent and captured the fifth spot.

Placing sixth was Mapua’s Lorenz Lugatiman, who got a score of 93 percent, while fellow Mapua graduate Yoshiaki Mikami followed in seventh place with a grade of 92.75 percent.

De La Salle’s Marabelle del Prado ranked eighth with a grade of 92.70 percent, while Cebu Technological University graduate Dave Kerwin Bolarin and Mapua’s Harf Miranda shared ninth place with a score of 92.05 percent.

Angel Jaurigue Jr. of UP-Diliman placed 10th with a grade of 92 percent.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration starts on May 20 until May 22. Successful examinees must personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
