Roco party endorses Bam, Rissa

MANILA, Philippines - The political party founded by the late senator Raul Roco has endorsed the candidacy of Team PNoy senatorial bets Risa Hontiveros and Bam Aquino.

Aksyon Demokratiko acting president Bobbit Roco, son of the former senator, said they decided to endorse Hontiveros and Aquino as they both emulate the party’s “Agenda of HOPE.”

Roco said HOPE stands for honest governance; opportunity for all; people, productivity, prosperity, and peace; and education and environment for sustainable development.

He lauded Hontiveros for her diligence, dedication to promote women’s rights, and passion to defend the rights of the poor and marginalized. He said his father would have been proud to associate the party he founded with Hontiveros if he was alive today.

In endorsing Aquino, Roco said the President’s cousin must be allowed to serve the Filipino people because of his knowledge, which he applied in helping the poor through micro-enterprise projects.
