Tagle to lead Mass for Jonas Burgos

MANILA, Philippines - Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle will hold a Holy Mass for missing activist Jonas Burgos at the Quiapo Church on Thursday.

Rights group Karapatan said that the religious gathering dubbed ""Six Years of Search: a mass for truth and justice" will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Aside from Karapatan, other human rights advocacy groups, such as Free Jonas Burgos Movement, End Impunity Alliance, and Promotion for Church People's Response,  will attend the Mass.

The Supreme Court has ordered the Armed Forces of the Philippines to locate military personnel involved in the abduction of Burgos six years ago, in light of the newly discovered evidence by the Burgos family.

The High Court also issued a temporary protection order to the National Bureau of Investigation to secure the immediate family members of Jonas.
