PNP chief off to France for Interpol meet
MANILA, Philippines - Philippine National Police chief director general Alan Purisima left the country on Monday to represent the Philippines in the annual conference of the Interpol in France.
Purisima heads a three-man PNP delegation that will attend the 9th Annual heads of Interpol national central bureaus (NCBs) in Lyon, France on Aprril 17 to 19.
Joining Purisima are Director Napoleon Estilles, PNP Director for Plans and Superintendent Lorenzo Eleazar of the Office of the Chief, PNP.
"It is a great honor for me to represent the country in this annual meeting among Interpol-member countries," the PNP head said.
High in the agenda of this Interpol meeting is the strengthening of the NCBs to deal with new crime challenges.
The PNP delegation will also attend the group discussions of regional NCBs on specific topics from a regional perspective.
The PNP is the national central bureau (NCB) of the Interpol in the Philippines.
In his absence, Deputy Director General Rommel Heredia, PNP Deputy Chief for Administration, will act as Officer-in-Charge.
