Magnitude-6.1 quake jolts Batanes; no casualties

MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - A magnitude-6.1 earthquake struck Batanes this morning, around 4:20 a.m. local time, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
No one was reported hurt or killed. There are no reports of damaged property.
PHIVOLCS said the earthquake was tectonic in origin and a magnitude-5.0 earthquake was felt in the towns of Basco, Itbayat, Mahatao and Ivana.
Two aftershocks were recorded in the next two hours.
