Cayetano seeks second phase of CCT program

Marvin Sy - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Re-electionist Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano yesterday called on the government to consider a second phase of the conditional cash transfer program or CCT-II, this time aimed at providing families with seed capital for establishing micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME).

Cayetano, who is running under the Team PNoy banner of the administration, proposed the allocation of P500 million for each of the 17 regions of the country, for a total of P8.5 billion.

He made the proposal during the launch of his PTK or presyo, trabaho, kita (prices, employment and wages) platform at the Taguig City University.

Cayetano said that the P500 million for each region under CCT-II would help both the families who need capital to start up a small business as well as the existing MSMEs that require support to sustain their operations.
