Party-list groups back Magsaysay
MANILA, Philippines - Former senator Ramon Magsaysay Jr. did not make it to the top 12 in surveys for senatorial candidates in the coming election, but this has not dampened his spirit.
In fact, Magsaysay was elated that at least six party-list groups have declared their support for his bid to return to the Senate.
In a statement, Ang Ladlad, AGHAM and Partido ng Manggagawa at Magsasaka have declared their support for Magsaysay.
Pilipinos with Disabilities, the Veterans Freedom Party and the Senior Citizens party-list groups have also reportedly aired their support.
“It’s a good sign that these party-list groups are behind our candidacy because it means they believe in the kind of public service that we offer,†Magsaysay said.
He said he expects more groups to support his bid in the next weeks.
