Cojuangco clan united; alliance with UNA immaterial – Tingting

Ding Cervantes - The Philippine Star

ANGELES CITY, Philippines – Former Tarlac governor Margarita “Tingting” Cojuangco said her candidacy with the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) has not affected the unity of the Cojuangco clan.

In an interview with The STAR the other day, Tingting belied reports that her nephew President Aquino had blamed her for allegedly trying to sabotage the peace talks with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in Mindanao.

“The President has not accused me. It was an anonymous source,” she said, admitting she did not know the identity of the source.

She lamented that some sectors seem to be bent on driving a rift between her and the President. But she stressed that the Cojuangcos remain united.

Tingting is the wife of Peping Cojuangco, elder brother of the late president Cory Aquino.
