NBI exec wants suspects in slay try charged
MANILA, Philippines - A National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) official asked the Department of Justice (DOJ) yesterday to charge in court the people who ambushed him and his brother one year ago.
Reynaldo Esmeralda, NBI deputy director for intelligence services, said bullet fragments hit his right temple, his right shoulder and his right foot.
His brother was hit in the right eye, he added.
Esmeralda said two counts of frustrated murder were filed against former NBI director Magtanggol Gatdula and 12 others on June 21 last year.
The DOJ conducted a preliminary investigation and the case was submitted for resolution last December, 2012, he added.
