Loren wants poor to benefit from health bill
LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – Sen. Loren Legarda wants all poor Filipinos to benefit from her Universal Health Care Bill, which is already on third reading in the 15th Senate.
“This means the poorest sector in our country, especially those who are jobless, street children, will have free health care under my Universal Health Care Bill,†said Legarda during a tree planting program in Legazpi City last week.
She thanked Sen. Pia Cayetano, chair of the committee on health, for helping her pass the bill.
“In my third and last term – from 2013 to 2019 – I will make sure this will be made into a law, funded, and implemented,†Legarda said.
She said the House would adopt the Senate version of the bill.
