LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – Sen. Loren Legarda has vowed to make the country’s 42,000 barangays resilient to natural disasters due to intensifying global warming.

Legarda said this disaster resilient project is under the Climate Change Act, which she authored and was made law in 2009, and the National Disaster Risk Management Act.

“I will bring all this disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation workshops down to the barangay level,” she said during a press conference at the St. Ellis Hotel on Valentine’s Day.
