Kidnappers free Fil-Canadian baby, nanny in Ozamis
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines - A Filipino-Canadian baby and his nanny abducted in Pagadian City have been rescued in Ozamis City on Friday afternoon, a police official announced.
Chief superintendent Juanito Vaño, Police Regional Office 9 (PRO) director, said pursuing policemen recovered the baby and his nanny Caroline Remetre, 17 at around 3 p.m..
Vaño said the baby and his nanny were abandoned by the captors in a mall in Ozamis City.
The victims were immediately brought to the police headquarters and they were expected to be immediately reunited with his mother and father.
Remetre was taking her ward for a stroll at Rosario Homes Subdivision in Dao district Pagadian City when they were seized by unidentified men at past 6 a.m. Thursday.
Vaño immediately alerted his forces and ordered the pursuit operations extended to Region 10 after failing to immediately recover the victims.
