CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – John Paul Lopez, the man who reportedly abetted Rolando Bae in his killing rampage, claimed yesterday that the killer’s house was a graveyard of sorts for his alleged victims in Barangay Tabon 1, Kawit, Cavite.
Chief Inspector Reynaldo Magdaluyo, head of the Cavite Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), said they are now coordinating with concerned agencies to allow them to dig inside Bae’s residence.
“We are now zeroing in on Bae’s house. We are just waiting for the arrival of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) team and the court order from the provincial prosecutor’s office before we start digging at the vacant house of Bae,†Magdaluyo said, adding that they are not sure if Lopez is telling the truth, but they must act on his information.
He said Lopez told the police that the vacant lot at the back of the house was a virtual “killing field†of Bae’s rivals in the drug business.
On Thursday, Lopez was charged with seven counts of murder, 11 counts of frustrated murder, three counts of attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms, and violation of the anti-drug law. No bail was recommended.
