Palace names 2 more undersecretaries

MANILA, Philippines - Malacañang named yesterday two more department undersecretaries to further speed up and improve government services.

According to a GMA News report, President Aquino appointed Angelita Gregorio-Medel as undersecretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development and Catherine Jennifer Francis Gonzales as undersecretary of Department of Transportation and Communications.

Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said their appointment papers were signed the same day the controversial Reproductive Health bill was signed into law last Dec. 21. Medel’s and Gonzales’ terms end with the appointing authority, Valte said.
