MANILA, Philippines - Jollibee’s tuna pie has made it to Yahoo! Finance as one of the world’s most popular fast-food items that has developed a cult-like fan base.
Described as the “savory pie that has a flaky, golden brown crust and is stuffed with tuna chunks and assorted vegetables,” Yahoo! Finance listed Jollibee’s “fish in a pie” as one of the “13 Fast Food Menu Items That Have Fanatical Cult Followings” last November.
Aside from the Philippines where it drew a huge “cult-like fan base,” the exclusive menu favorite which is only available for a limited time of the year can also be found in California, New York, Nevada, Washington, Hawaii.
The pie was “particularly popular with fast foodies who want an alternative to a red meat meal,” the article said.
Other fast food menu items that were cited as the world’s most popular were Taco Bell’s Beefy Crunch Burrito, White Castle’s Sweet Potato Fries, and Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Jollibee was also named as one of the “Best fast food chains in the world” by New York-based Travel + Leisuremagazine last May.
