DLSU grad tops chem eng board exam

MANILA, Philippines - A graduate of De La Salle University topped the licensure examination for Chemical Engineers, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday.

With a grade of 84.90 percent, Franz Adrian Sy led the more than 700 examinees who took the licensure examination.

PRC said out of the 777 examinees, only 426 passed the licensure examination held in Manila and Cebu.

Adamson University graduate Rolie Castro placed second with a grade of 82.70 percent, followed by Mindanao State University graduate Jeffrey Bayang in third spot with a grade of 81.90 percent.

Placing fourth was University of the Philippines-Diliman graduate Annabelle Chua, who obtained a score of 81.80 percent, while UP-Los Baños graduate Luis Felipe Lopez came in fifth with a grade of 81.20 percent.

Roy Roque Rivera Jr. scored 80.90 percent and ranked sixth in the examination, while University of Santo Tomas graduate Daryl Carillo and Bicol University graduate Michael Prena shared the seventh spot with a score of 80.80 percent.

Another UP-Diliman graduate, Isabel Iris Claro, and UST graduate Jerome Magpayo both placed eighth with a grade of 80.70 percent.

Kim Christian Galaez of Central Philippine University and Francis Narvin Tanala also of De La Salle shared the ninth spot with a grade of 80.60 percent.

Tenth placer was UP-Diliman graduate Jose Antonio Pimentel, who scored 80.50 percent.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be on Dec. 11.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
