MANILA, Philippines - Prison Senior Officer 1 Robert Veneracion and Prison Supervisor Fajardo Lansangan are not among those being investigated for administrative charges over the grenade explosion that rocked the maximum security compound (MSC) of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) last week, the Department of Justice (DOJ) clarified yesterday.
The DOJ said Veneracion and Lansangan were the ones designated by Secretary Leila de Lima as chief overseer and commander of guards of MSC, respectively, to replace Prison Guard 3 Francisco Satorre and Prison Senior Officer 1 Robert Mandap.
Satorre and Mandap are being investigated along with relieved NBP chief superintendent Ramon Reyes and MSC supertindent Roberto Rabo for grave neglect of duties and conduct prejudicial to the service.
