MANILA, Philippines – A grandson of Andal Ampatuan Sr. charged with 57 counts of murder in connection with the Maguindanao massacre will be arraigned tomorrow at the Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City, where most of the suspects in the massacre case are detained.
Regional Trial Court Branch 221 Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes ordered the arraignment of Sajid Anwar Ampatuan Jr., alias “Datu Ulo,” following his recent arrest.
Sajid Anwar was recently arrested by the police in a middle-class village in Las Piñas City.
Another accused, PO1 Michael Madsig of the 1508th Provincial Police Mobile Group, will also be arraigned on the same day.
There are 57 counts of murder – representing the number of victims whose remains were recovered following the killings – filed against 195 accused in the case.
