Gretchen, Lucy face-off in PeopleAsia

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - PeopleAsia heats up the rainy season with the “Women of Style and Substance” of its August-September issue. Gracing the cover are actress Gretchen Barretto and Leyte Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez, both of whom epitomize the fiery and angelic dichotomy that defines the modern women on this highly anticipated annual list.

Joining them in the special issue are other stylish and accomplished women such as mother and children’s welfare advocate Marissa Concepcion; Air France-KLM executive Julia Godet; Lanao del Norte Rep. Aliah Dimaporo; San Vicente, Palawan Mayor Pie Alvarez; lawyer Karen Jimeno; graphic designer Isabel Gatuslao; sculptor Olivia d’Aboville; and broadcast journalist Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo.

PeopleAsia also pays tribute to the late “King of Comedy,” Dolphy, with a look-back on his life and times. Aside from iconic photos (shot by Jun de Leon), the special feature includes a rare father-and-son moment as we reprint an interview done by actor-turned-director Eric Quizon with his father.

The magazine also brings a welcome escape from the onslaught of rain with picturesque features on Santiago de Compostela in northwest Spain, the historic Walled City of Intramuros in Manila, Boracay Regency Beach Resort & Spa in Aklan and the Subic Bay Yacht Club in Olongapo.

Other interesting must-reads in the latest issue of PeopleAsia are appetizing treats from Nectar, SM Southmall’s Food Street and Dusit Thani Manila’s Benjarong; as well as the latest features from Chevrolet and Mercedes-Benz.

PeopleAsia’s August-October 2012 issue is now available on newsstands nationwide. For more information, contact Flor Alvarez at (02) 892-1854.
