STAR launches fund drive for flood victims

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine STAR Group, through its philanthropic arm Operation Damayan, is launching a fund drive for victims of the torrential rains that submerged large portions of Metro Manila and nearby provinces and displaced thousands of residents.

Since Sunday, heavy monsoon rains have poured incessantly, killing 19 people and displacing thousands of people living in low-lying areas.

Nine members of one family died after a landslide hit shanties in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.

Thousands are staying in evacuation centers, lacking food and clothes.

The Philippine STAR is once again calling on kind-hearted individuals and institutions to help and join The STAR’s fund drive for the flood victims.
