MANILA, Philippines - Workers in Metro Manila will receive a pay hike aside from the P30 additional cost-of-living allowance (COLA) recently approved by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB).
Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said the RTWPB-National Capital Region is set to issue an advisory on the second tier of the performance-based pay of workers in the metropolis.
“The advisory will serve as guidelines for private establishments on the range of productivity bonuses and incentives that an enterprise or industry may provide based on agreement between workers and management,” said Baldoz.
The salary adjustment was provided for in Wage Order No. NCR-17 issued last Friday by the board.
According to Baldoz, productivity-based pay pertains to “wage rate adjustment attributed to employees’ productivity or performance, value of the job, cost of living, business growth, financial capacity and competitiveness of the enterprise.”
