Air fare to include terminal fee in August

MANILA, Philippines - Starting Aug.1, the terminal fees for domestic flights will be included in the prices of plane tickets, Transportation Secretary Manuel Roxas II said yesterday.

“This means there will be one less queue at the airport for our passengers,” Roxas said.

The scheme will eventually be implemented at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, with a software

system being set up to bundle terminal fees with air fares being charged by airlines.

Roxas said the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) shouldered the costs of setting up a software solution to make possible a bundled collection of terminal fees.
