MANILA, Philippines - Malacañang is conducting a “Communications Roadshow” in the Visayas to discuss the reforms undertaken by President Aquino’s government and discuss his 16-point agenda.
“We have been doing roadshow presentations since last year. We have been to Dumaguete and Bohol where we presented the program of government of the Aquino administration,” said presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda.
Lacierda said at the same time they had the chance to meet local media and civil society organizations in the areas they visited to know their local concerns and also to answer questions.
“The people have been receptive and warm and at the same time, appreciate immensely the fact that, in their words, the Palace has come to the people,” Lacierda said.
Aside from Dumaguete and Bohol, Lacierda and deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said they also visited Bacolod, Iloilo and Roxas City.
“By May, (it will be) Ilocos Norte. Future areas will be the Bicol provinces and Mindanao. The specifics have yet to be discussed,” Lacierda said.
Valte said the roadshow was not a political sortie as they had been meeting with government employees primarily.
