MANILA, Philippines - Solicitor General Jose Anselmo Cadiz has resigned from his post, a Cabinet member confirmed last night.
The official, who asked not to be identified as the Palace is expected to make the announcement today, said Cadiz submitted his resignation to President Aquino last Friday.
“He told the President he wants to go back to private practice,” the source said.
Cadiz, former president of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, has not made a confirmation of his resignation as of press time.
His resignation came after he defended before the Supreme Court last year the Department of Agrarian Reform’s position on the distribution of Hacienda Luisita, owned by Aquino’s family, to farmers in Tarlac.
