MANILA, Philippines - Two leading suppliers of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) increased prices yesterday by P1 per kilogram, or P11 for every 11-kg cylinder.
Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. jacked up prices of Shellane, its LPG brand. Prices of Shellane, which ranged from P705 to P733 per kg in July, are now P716 to P744 per 11-kg cylinder.
For Gasul, prices rose from P665 to P695 per 11-kg cylinder in July to P676 to P709 per kg.
Meanwhile, Arnel Ty of the LPG Marketers Association of the Philippines (LPGMA) said they would not implement any price adjustments any time soon.
“No, we can still absorb it (bulk prices of LPG),” Ty said.
A majority of LPGMA members acquire LPG in bulk from the two big LPG suppliers.
Petron likewise increased the price tag of autoLPG by another P0.63 per liter, or from P30.19 to P30.82 per liter.
The average price of autoLPG is P30 per liter. There are 28 suppliers of autoLPG while 25 firms are involved in the sale of LPG.
