Aquino's Easter message to GMA: Seek guidance for your actions

DAVAO CITY, Philippines - President Aquino sent an Easter message to former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, advising his predecessor to seek guidance to realize the actions she did that could have also done injustice to a lot of people.

“We are all adults here. We are all responsible for all of our decisions. Perhaps, she should seek more guidance and she should keep praying for the right things to do,” the President said in a short interview last Maundy Thursday when he arrived here for a private visit to the family of the late banana magnate and industrialist Jesus Ayala.

Arroyo earlier warned of a “vacuum of leadership” in the Aquino government, which she said has failed to address various crises and is leading the country toward economic disaster.

“She had nine and a half years of governance, am I the one demonizing her?” Aquino said.

The President said Arroyo should look deeper into her more than nine years.

“All of us really must ask for guidance,” Aquino said, but refrained from further saying anything against Arroyo because he said he feared being visited by his late father and Ayala himself.
