Online Visita Iglesia gets 130,000 hits
MANILA, Philippines - The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) reported that the number of visitors of the online Visita Iglesia had reached almost 130,000 by mid-afternoon yesterday.
As of 2:45 p.m. the Visita Iglesia online of the CBCPNews reportedly reached 128,667 hits, surpassing by a large margin the 40,000 visitors registered last year.
The CBCP explained that there were fewer registered viewers last year because the Visita Iglesia website crashed due to heavy traffic of online visitors.
The CBCP Media Office created the Visita Iglesia for the Holy Week.
It primarily catered to overseas Filipino workers, particularly those who are based in countries where they could not freely practice their religion. It would also help the physically impaired to take part in the Holy Week celebrations.
