Pro-RH bill lawmakers portrayed as demons?

MANILA, Philippines - A member of women’s party-list group Gabriela yesterday decried the “demonizing” of lawmakers supporting the Reproductive Health (RH) bill by the Catholic Church.                                                                                                 

“We are being called immoral and even portrayed as demons,” said Gabriela Party List Rep. Luz Ilagan.                       

The bill is scheduled for plenary debate next week and is expected to be approved for final reading.                               

“Anti-RH bill advocates tried to stop the passage of the bill at the committee but they failed,” Ilagan said.                        

The Catholic Church staunchly opposes the bill which promotes both natural and artificial methods of family planning.
