Woman files abuse case vs Dacer murder witness Mancao
MANILA, Philippines - A 43-year-old woman who claimed she is engaged in a “special relationship” with former police official Cesar Mancao yesterday filed an abuse case against him before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
Mancao is the government’s star witness in the double murder case of publicist Salvador Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito in 2000.
In her five-page complaint-affidavit, Teresa Irene Abas alleged that Mancao got her pregnant but has not been showing concern for her condition.
Abas, a resident of White Plains in Quezon City, cited an instance when Mancao accidentally hit her on the stomach when he got mad, causing her great pain.
Instead of responding to the accident, Mancao allegedly left the complainant “in awe and shock.”
Abas said she was also made to believe that Mancao would divorce his wife who is now in the United States and that she too will file an annulment case against him.
Mancao supposedly told her he has changed his mind because he cannot afford to end his marriage.
Abas also claimed to have read on Mancao’s mobile phone romantic messages from another woman.
“I believe he is in a secret relationship with someone who is now in position, a government official. He was telling me, ‘Pabayaan mo na lang ako, diskarte ko ito’ (Let me be, this is my thing),” said Abas.
She said the government official whom Mancao is having an affair with is responsible for having him placed under the government’s witness protection program.
Abas also claimed that Mancao would verbally abuse her, calling her “malandi (slut),” “atik (liar),” “mukhang pera (gold digger),” and “gaga (crazy).” Mancao’s attitude towards her has been causing her emotional and psychological distress.
Abas met Mancao sometime in November 2009 when he asked for her assistance for his candidacy as representative of the 1st District of Compostela Valley. He lost in the election.
