La Union resident wins lotto pot
MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced yesterday that a lucky bettor from La Union won the P77,373,363.60 jackpot of the 6/49 Super Lotto draw last Thursday night.
Manny Garcia, PCSO publicity and advertising manager, said that the player got the winning number combination 44-06-09-01-40-24 of the Super Lotto draw.
He said the still unidentified winner bought his or her ticket at a lotto outlet in La Union.
“The lucky player is the 12th lotto millionaire for this year,” Garcia said.
The PCSO said 11 lucky winners became instant millionaires last month after they won jackpots ranging from P23 million to P61 million.
Garcia said among the winners was a 39-year-old jobless man from Cebu City who was a victim of illegal recruitment.
He won the P3.4-million jackpot prize of the 6/42 Regular Lotto draw last Jan. 25.
Garcia said the winner bought the winning ticket in Cebu City.
The winner claimed his prize last week at the PCSO central office at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
As a matter of policy and security, the winners’ identities are kept secret.
A 26-year-old jobless woman also claimed the P15,718,660.20 jackpot of the 6/45 Mega Lotto draw on Jan. 31.
The woman bought her ticket at a lotto outlet in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.
