Lotto prizes reach hundreds of millions

-

MANILA, Philippines - If you’re feeling lucky, there are two lotto games with jackpots in the hundreds of millions up for grabs.

The jackpot for the last 6/55 Grand Lotto draw last Monday reached P220,112,532 while the jackpot prize for the 6/49 Super Lotto last Tuesday amounted to P104,469,148.

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said in its website that the winning combination in the last Grand Lotto draw was 15-12-03-33-08-09. The winning combination in the Super Lotto draw was 15-22-29-38-39-04.

The Grand Lotto is drawn every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, while the Super Lotto is drawn on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

The Grand Lotto replaced the Power Lotto last April because of an increase in requests for medical assistance from indigent patients.

The new game targets bettors from all social status, unlike the Power Lotto, which targeted those from classes A and B.

The 6/55 Grand Lotto game uses a single panel system, which means a bettor has to choose a combination of six numbers in any order, unlike the two-panel system for the Power Lotto, which had a panel of five chosen numbers and another with just one number from 0 to 9.

The 6/49 Super Lotto, on the other hand, remains PCSO’s most popular game. It registered the biggest jackpot in PCSO history – a whopping P347 million – in February 2009.
