DENR opens contest for 'eco-friendly' schools
MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has opened a contest for the most environmentally sound schools in the country.
The contest titled “2011 National Search for Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Schools,” would recognize the achievements of schools committed to implementing various environmental programs.
The contest is sponsored by telecommunications firm Smart Communications.
Schools interested to enter the contest should document the environment programs they implement.
The contest, first launched in 2009, received positive response from schools and the private sector.
This year’s theme is “Sustainable and Eco-friendly Initiatives.”
Participating schools should include a brief description of the project. Entries for the high school category must be sent in three hard copies to the division offices of the Department of Education, while those for the college category should be sent to the regional offices of the Environmental Management Bureau.
Entries may also be emailed to [email protected] in JPEG format with a resolution of 300 dots per inch (dpi), a minimum size of 1536 x 2048 pixels, and a maximum file size of 1MB.
