910 pass medtech exams

MANILA, Philippines - A graduate of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) topped the licensure examination for medical technologists, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday.

George Michael Sosuan topped the licensure examination with 92.30 percent, followed by Joshua Uyboco of the University of Immaculate Conception in Davao with a grade of 91.90 percent.

PRC said only 910 out of the 1,278 examinees passed the exam given in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Davao.

With a grade of 90.70 percent, Irish May Co of Trinity University of Asia captured the third spot while Jericho Carmona of Colegio de San Agustin in Bacolod City landed fourth with a grade of 90.30 percent.

Another UST graduate Francisco Tria placed fifth with 89.40 percent followed by Aileen Uy, also of UST, and Rashid Ibrahem of the Manila Central University in Caloocan in sixth spot with a grade of 89.20 percent.

Patrick Vera Cruz of Silliman University scored 89.10 percent, which earned him seventh place.

Four examinees, Rhea Malou Moran of Velez College; Angela Christy Parcon of Cebu Doctors University; Kenneth Bryan Pasco of Far Eastern University and Jude Anthony Trinidad of UST, shared the eighth spot with a grade of 89 percent.

Trinity University of Asia’s Joseph Israel Guanlao and Honey Gladys Potutan placed ninth and 10th, respectively, by scoring 88.90 percent and 88.60 percent in the examination.

PRC said the registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will run from Sept. 14 to 20.

The oath-taking ceremony of the successful examinees in the examination as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be on Oct. 3 at the Manila Hotel.
