Aquino names members of Cabinet
MANILA, Philippines -- President-elect Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino officially announced the members of his Cabinet and senior government officials who will serve under his administration in a press conference in Quezon City this afternoon.
Aquino has chosen Paquito “Jojo” Ochoa as Executive Secretary, Cesar Purisima as Finance Secretary, Former Army Commander Ric David as Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief, Leila De Lima as Secretary of the Department of Justice; Bro. Armin Luistro as Secretary of the Department of Education and Butch Abad as Budget Secretary.
Other Cabinet appointees include Cayetano Padaranga (NEDA), Preceso Alcala (Department of Agriculture), Ramon Paje (Department of Environment and Natural Resources), Ping De Jesus (Department of Transportation and Communications), Rosalinda Baldoz (Department of Labor and Employment), Enrique Ona (Department of Health), Alberto Lim (Department of Transportation), Gregory Domingo (Department of Trade and Industry), Dinky Soliman (Department of Social Welfare and Development), Mario Montejo (Department of Science and Technology), Rene Almendras (Department of Energy), Rogelio Singson (Department of Public Works Highways), Virgilio Delos Reyes (Department of Agrarian Reform), Julia Abad (Presidential Management Staff), Edwin Lacierda (Presidential Spokesperson), Ed De Mesa (Presidential Legal Counsel), Jing Deles (Peace Adviser), Patricia Licuanan (CHED), Kim Henares (BIR) and Jesus Versoza (Philippine National Police).
Aquino has yet to appoint executives who will head the Department of Customs, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), TESDA and the Media Communications Group.
