Nachura to swear in GMA

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga , Philippines  – Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Eduardo Nachura will preside over the oath taking of President Arroyo as representative of the second district of the province. Mrs. Arroyo will be sworn into office with three other elected lawmakers at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center on June 30.                                                                   

Governor-elect and administration ally Lilia Pineda said there would be no fanfare during the oath taking.                

Arroyo would travel here immediately after accompanying president-elect Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III to his inauguration at the Quirino Grandstand at noon of June 30. She is expected to arrive at the Guiao Sports Complex at around 1 p.m.                                                                    

Almost all elected local officials in the province are administration allies, including Pineda’s daughter Mylene, elected mayor of Lubao, and her daughter-in-law Yolanda, reelected mayor of Sta. Rita.

Mrs. Arroyo is expected to return to her home in La Vista after the oath taking. “It’s a holiday on June 30 so I suppose she would head back home to take care of Kuya Mike (First Gentleman Mike Arroyo) who underwent spinal surgery only recently,” Pineda said.
