Noli congratulates Aquino, Binay

MANILA, Philippines - Vice President Noli de Castro yesterday congratulated president-elect Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III and vice president-elect Jejomar Binay on their proclamation.                 

In his congratulatory message sent from Italy, De Castro expressed hope that the next administration will prioritize housing projects and programs for overseas Filipino workers.

De Castro is in Italy to attend the Pag-IBIG housing fair and Independence Day celebrations of the Philippine embassy in Rome and the consulate general in Milan.                                   

He wished Aquino success in his next six years as president. You (Aquino) have my fullest support as you steer the Republic towards its rightful destination, De Castro said.       

He also recognized Binays leadership experience and dedication to the cause of local governance.                         I am also elated knowing that the ordinary Filipino will continue to have a champion and a voice in a vice president who identifies with them and with their aspirations, he said.

During the housing fair in Milan, De Castro urged OFWs to invest in Pag-IBIG, stressing reforms in its housing program have enabled many Filipinos to own homes.                                          

Even a simple low income employee can borrow from Pag-IBIG and build his dream home, he said.  – With Jose Rodel Clapano
