PPCRV: Early vote count gives lead to 'Noy-Bi'
MANILA, Philippines - Liberal Party (LP) presidential bet Senator Benigno Aquino III and Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) vice presidential contender Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay were the leading the candidates in the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting’s (PPCRV) unofficial count and partial transmission from the precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines.
As of 8:21 p.m., Aquino got a total of 179,020 votes while Binay got 185,623 votes.
In second spot was Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) standard-bearer former Joseph Estrada (136,295), followed by Nacionalista Party standard bearer Manuel Villar ( 102,271), administration bet Gilberto Teodoro (53,686), Bangon Pilipinas standard-bearer Eddie Villanueva (14, 669),disqualified bet Vetellano Acosta (3,105), Bagumbayan standard-bearer Sen. Richard Gordon (2,571), and independent candidates Nicanor Perlas (791), JC de los Reyes(610) and Sen. Jamby Madrigal (608).
In the vice-presidential race, Sen.Mar Roxas ranked second with 152,263 votes, followed by NP bet Loren Legarda (96,415), Lakas-Kampi-CMD bet Edu Manzano (14,743), Bangon Pilipinas bet Perfecto Yasay (4,022), independent candidates Dominador Chipeco (946) and Jay Sonza (805).
PPCRV media communications director Ana De Villa-Singson said that just before 8:30 last night, they had received transmissions from less than two percent of the total number of precincts.
Of the 76,475 precincts nationwide, they have received transmission from only 1,467 precincts.
In the senate race, Lakas Kampi bet Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla topped the list with 253,387.
He was followed by Sen. Jinggoy Estrada (222,283), Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago (181,193), Senate Pesident Juan Ponce Enrile (171,695), former senator Franklin Drilon (156,536), Sen. Lito Lapid(152,543), Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. (141,080), Sen. Pia Cayetano (136,240), former senator Ralph Recto(132,650), and former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Vicente Sotto (113,784.)
