MANILA, Philippines - Catholic bishops yesterday advised Filipinos not to rely on psychic predictions.
Antipolo Auxiliary Bishop Francis de Leon said “believing those predictions is like building your house on sand.”
“Build your house on the rock, the Lord. So trust the Lord and continue to do good,” he said.
For his part, Novaliches Bishop Emeritus Teodoro Bacani said people create their own future.
“Our future is what we make it. God wants what is good for us. We must want it also and together work for it. It is useless to consult seers,” Bacani said.
Cubao Bishop Honesto Ongtioco, meanwhile, said that amid several predictions for this year, people’s faith in God must prevail. – Helen Flores
