Hayden loses medical license

MANILA, Philippines - The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has stripped celebrity cosmetic doctor Hayden Kho of his medical license for taking a video of his sexual liaison with actress Katrina Halili.

Dr. Restituto de Ocampo, PRC’s Medical Board chairman, said the six-member board came out with a unanimous decision to revoke Kho’s license.

“After a prolonged examination and hearing testimonies of witnesses, the Board found that there is enough basis that Kho committed immoral and dishonorable act and we felt his license should be revoked,” Ocampo disclosed.

Ocampo said the PRC’s legal department has given Kho two weeks to file a motion for reconsideration; otherwise, he will be required to surrender his medical license.

Ocampo, however, clarified that until Kho surrenders his license before the PRC, he can still practice medicine.

If Kho decides to appeal the board’s decision, Ocampo said the commission would decide whether to overrule or sustain the revocation order.

Earlier this year, Halili charged Kho before the PRC with immoral, dishonorable and unethical conduct for taking a video of their sexual liaison without her consent.

In her complaint, Halili asked the PRC to revoke Kho’s medical license and prohibit him from medical practice.

PRC’s legal department chief Pharson Mamalo said the ruling to revoke Kho’s license was expected because he admitted that he took the video without Halili’s consent.

Mamalo said the Medical Board came out with a ruling last Nov. 20 and the lawyers of Kho and Halili received copies of the decision yesterday afternoon.

Kho may also elevate the case before the Court of Appeals or the Supreme Court.
