MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) is heightening security in all seaports, airports, and bus terminals starting today up to Nov. 3.
Under Oplan Kaluluwa 2009, its annual security exercise in commemoration of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, DOTC will deploy personnel and mobile patrols along strategic areas to assist passengers in ports and terminals.
DOTC is putting up help desks at major and common bus terminals in EDSA Kamuning, Ali Mall in Cubao, Quezon City; Monumento in Caloocan City; Buendia, Baclaran and Tramo in Pasay City; Dimasalang/Sampaloc and Doroteo Jose in Manila; and in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
Assistance centers will also be set up at domestic and international airports, and at major ports in North Harbor. DOTC partnered with the Philippine National Police and Metro Manila Development Authority.
